About the Role

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to join our team. As a Senior Architect, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical design experience while actively engaging your entrepreneurial spirit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various tasks throughout each project phase, including supervising the preparation and checking the accuracy of contract documents.
  • Incorporate applicable codes, construction techniques, and sequences in various projects, including all aspects of cross-disciplines.
  • Supervise and/or perform site observations, such as recording and reporting of existing conditions and construction progress.
  • Handle problems and questions as they occur during construction, exercising professional judgment in areas of contractual liability.
  • Responsible for project cost control, external communications, and writing reports, including feasibility studies, condition reports, and recommendations.
  • Perform building code reviews and prepare applications, responsible for major design decisions, involving spatial, aesthetic elements, and detailing of materials.
  • Document the progression of a routine project through correspondence, calculations, memos, etc.
  • Follow routine projects through approvals and construction, initiating contact with clients and town officials.
  • Provide leadership to a team performing a sequence of tasks, instilling motivation to meet projected milestones and adjusting procedures to keep progress on target.
  • Maintain good client relations, follow up on qualifying leads as directed, and contribute suggestions on business development.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and/or presentations, utilizing sufficient knowledge of marketing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 7 years related experience (completion of master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Registered Architect.

Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is $120,000.00-$175,000.00 annually, based on individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location.
