Job Summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to join our team. As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for applying technical design experience while actively engaging your entrepreneurial spirit. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clients and end-users, utilizing leadership and people-skills to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various tasks throughout each project phase, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Supervise the preparation and accuracy of contract documents, incorporating applicable codes, construction techniques, and sequences.
  • Conduct site observations, recording and reporting existing conditions and construction progress.
  • Handle problems and questions as they occur during construction, ensuring project cost control and effective communication.
  • Prepare reports, including feasibility studies, condition reports, and recommendations.
  • Perform building code reviews and prepare applications.
  • Make major design decisions, involving spatial, aesthetic elements, and detailing of materials.
  • Document project progression through correspondence, calculations, and memos.
  • Follow routine projects through approvals and construction.
  • Initiate contact with clients and town officials.
  • Exercise professional judgment in areas of contractual liability.
  • Make public presentations.
  • Account for individual project involvement, including scheduling, scope, role, and budget.
  • Monitor project budgets and make necessary adjustments to stay on track.
  • Provide leadership to teams performing tasks and instill motivation to meet projected milestones.
  • Maintain good client relations and follow up on qualifying leads.
  • Contribute suggestions on business development and assist in proposal preparation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 7 years related experience (completion of master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Registered Architect.
Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation range for this position is $120,000.00-175,000.00 Annually. Our extensive benefits package takes care of you, including insurance, disability, time off, and wellness programs. As part of being 100% employee-owned, eligible employees participate in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and 401(k) retirement program.

Work Environment

This role requires 15% travel. The primary location is US-CO-Denver, with a full-time schedule.
