KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and review fundamental federal corporate (C and S) and multistate tax filings, along with basic partnership returns.
  • Review basic and intermediate individual tax filings.
  • Complete tax-related checklists.
  • Prepare tax-related adjusting journal entries.
  • Address tax notices as required.
  • Draft tax technical memoranda and correspondence.
  • Develop tax depreciation schedules and ensure accurate asset classification.
  • Conduct research on intricate tax matters utilizing relevant authorities and guidelines.
  • Lead client meetings and manage specific client accounts, overseeing pre-engagement planning, execution, and deliverables.
  • Engage in tax planning activities, including preparing tax projections.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on tax processes, evaluating their performance for engagement reviews; assume in-charge responsibilities when necessary.
  • Review work performed by associates, provide guidance for their professional development, and assist in compliance matters.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required on engagements and by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a CPA firm.
  • Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong focus on client service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Integrity, dependability, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and document procedures performed.
  • Proficiency with general office software and adaptability to new tax-related applications.

Education and Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA certification in good standing.

Working Conditions:

  • Capable of working moderate overtime year-round, with increased overtime during specific business cycles.
