Position Overview: Global Mobility Tax Senior Manager

We are excited to present the opportunity for the Global Mobility Tax Senior Manager role at Grant Thornton. In this pivotal position, you will be instrumental in providing a comprehensive array of global mobility tax services to a diverse clientele spanning multiple sectors. Your responsibilities will include engaging with clients to deliver innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance solutions tailored for a global workforce. Additionally, you will oversee staff, collaborate with partners on client and business management, and develop inventive cross-border tax strategies for multinational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple client service teams and projects, ensuring the delivery of tax planning, consulting, and compliance services for international expatriates while managing tax-planning strategies within established budgets.
  • Provide comprehensive international expatriate tax services to multinational corporations, advising on the tax implications of a global workforce and harmonizing tax regulations across various jurisdictions for an effective mobility strategy.
  • Consult with clients on tax-efficient structures for international assignments, utilizing tax treaties to minimize tax liabilities for business travelers and mitigate risks for mid-market companies with a global presence.
  • Manage, train, and mentor team members on tax-related projects, evaluate engagement performance, and oversee tax compliance services.
  • Review intricate US individual tax returns, coordinate global tax compliance efforts, and assist clients in navigating international tax developments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or JD certification is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in tax consulting, with at least 3 years dedicated to international expatriate services.
  • Experience with a Big 4 firm, law firm, or the global mobility division of a multinational corporation.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and tax accounting capabilities, along with proficiency in individual tax consulting and experience in inbound and outbound employee relocation consulting.
  • Expertise in cross-border tax communication, practice, and business development, as well as effective staff management skills.
  • Familiarity with tax software and technology, along with a willingness to work additional hours and travel as necessary.
