Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition Services Director to lead our nutrition programs in a district setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public health nutrition, program management, and supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise all nutritional programs and supporting staff in a district, including Women's, Infants & Children, Maternal/Child Health, General Medical, Family Planning, Baby Care, and Adolescent Health.
  • Develop and implement nutrition services plans, including writing WIC grants and service plans.
  • Conduct Local Agency Management Evaluations (LAME) reviews and provide technical training and programmatic assistance.
  • Supervise professional and support employees, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Perform nutritional assessments and education to clients, as needed.
Requirements
  • Must meet requirements for use of title Dietitian/Nutritionist as authorized by Code of VA.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles of nutrition, public health programs, community resources, and principles of health education.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, personnel management, and ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs.
  • Skills in oral and written communication, nutrition counseling, and ability to write reports, interpret policy, and analyze data.
  • Ability to supervise multi-disciplinary teams and provide team leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public health nutrition, Registered Dietician, and supervisory experience.
