Location: Remote
Role Summary:
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in ongoing initiatives focused on the development of polymer materials, enhancement of extrusion processes, and thorough material analysis. This position is integral to the advancement of new processes and products, collaborating closely with various divisions within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the strategic planning of designated tasks.
2. Carry out assigned responsibilities efficiently and within set timelines.
3. Provide comprehensive documentation and updates regarding project activities.
4. Utilize analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve emerging challenges.
5. Adhere to established operational protocols relevant to the assigned duties.
6. Comply with organizational policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate should be proactive, capable of working independently, and demonstrate strong collaboration skills while showing a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Additional Duties:
- Innovate and maintain processes related to polymer additive manufacturing and printed electronics.
- Assist the engineering team in the production of additively manufactured components.
- Design and evaluate prototypes and engineering solutions.
- Present findings and data to the engineering team in a clear and structured manner.
- Document and communicate project milestones effectively.
- Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory tools, equipment, and material resources essential for experimental tasks.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, with relevant manufacturing experience preferred.
- Fundamental mechanical skills with 1-2 years of experience in polymer additive manufacturing techniques, including FDM and SLA.
- Ability to follow testing protocols and perform experiments using additive manufacturing equipment and basic laboratory tools.
- Proficient understanding of computer systems and networks.
- Basic data analysis capabilities and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective communication skills with peers and management.
- Knowledge of safety standards in laboratory environments.
- Comfortable in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team setting.
- Basic knowledge of electronics and soldering is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with materials testing equipment such as tensile load frames and rheometers is a plus.
- Familiarity with various polymers and processing technologies.
- Consistently produces high-quality work and contributes to process improvements.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of problem-solving methodologies.
- Knowledge of 3D printing and screen printing techniques for electronics is beneficial.
- Experience in executing print runs and conducting quality assessments during production cycles.
