Position Overview:

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in the conception and realization of cutting-edge suspension systems for our electric vehicle platforms. We seek an individual who embodies a proactive mindset and approaches challenges with enthusiasm and resolve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement front and/or rear suspension systems from initial concept to production readiness.
  • Exhibit excellence in design at both system and component levels, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
  • Develop and refine mechanical designs focusing on performance, compactness, weight, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, leveraging creativity and teamwork to efficiently integrate various systems.
  • Engage with stakeholders and attribute owners across multiple departments (Vehicle Safety, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Oversee virtual engineering and physical validation testing processes for your designs.
  • Establish necessary tolerances utilizing GD&T principles.
  • Manage several intricate projects within a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel as necessary for project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in automotive chassis engineering.
  • A strong commitment to developing innovative engineering solutions as part of a highly skilled team.
  • Creative design engineering and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive sector.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, particularly CATIA V5/V6 or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with prototype assembly.
  • Familiarity with technology, system, and supplier selection processes.
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities in project settings.
  • Experience in design release engineering, including change management and project oversight.
  • Solid understanding of various analytical tools such as ANSYS, OptiStruct, MatLab, ADAMS, and SHARK.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques including extrusion, casting, and stamping.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of vehicle crash safety concepts.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics.
  • Familiarity with NVH principles.
  • Experience in developing driven-vehicle attributes.
  • Over 10 years of experience in automotive or related engineering fields.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
