Job Summary

The Residency Program Administrator provides critical administrative and clerical support to the Office of Residency Training in Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. This role involves working closely with the Director and Directors of Fellowship Programs to ensure seamless administrative support to the department, aligning with the mission of the department and the medical center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review new admissions for compliance with regulations and coordinate with accrediting agencies, including NYS DOH, JCAHO, and ACGME.
  • Provide project management assistance and support for operational, financial, and business growth initiatives.
  • Plan and manage facilities improvement projects, identifying efficiencies and expediting project completion.
  • Act as Program Liaison, handling communications and inquiries, and referring to appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Perform photocopying, faxing, mailing, and maintaining office supply inventories and storage facilities.
  • Prepare memos, reports, journal articles, and other correspondence.
  • Supervise and train staff and trainees on charting and policy and procedure.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5 years of work experience.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and OMH regulations, with preference for experience with 599 regulations.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and possess excellent organization skills.
  • Proficiency in software and computer systems, including Thalamus for GME, New Innovations, Survey Monkey, and Liaison Outcomes for Internship match.
