Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the overall success of the pharmacy department by implementing strategies, motivating staff as the pharmacist-on-duty, prioritizing tasks to enhance contributions, and seeking feedback for professional growth in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Deliver exceptional pharmacy services to patients, empowering staff to provide value through counseling, fostering personalized relationships, promoting customer loyalty, and offering pharmacist-led clinical services to enhance health and wellness.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing pharmacy team, providing opportunities for growth and tailored challenges to meet individual needs.
  • Inspire your team to uphold ethical standards, gain commitment, and encourage accountability for departmental goals while championing innovative programs and processes.
  • Oversee departmental performance, including scheduling and task assignments, to ensure timely and efficient operational activities.
  • Foster continuous improvement and maintain a competitive edge by analyzing metrics related to sales and service, utilizing best practices, and making informed business decisions in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
  • Be recognized as an authority on pharmacy technology systems and their application in both routine and complex prescription processing.
  • Excel in managing medication inventory and be regarded as an expert in pharmacy inventory operations, mentoring others on best practices to optimize sales and minimize shrinkage while meeting customer needs.
  • Proactively advance pharmacy clinical initiatives, including medication therapy management and immunizations.
  • Engage as a community pharmacist in local events that address unique health and preventative care needs.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate customer needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for the position of Assistant Pharmacy Manager include:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Must possess and maintain an unrestricted state pharmacist license.
  • Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or restrictions related to participation in health insurance programs upon hire and thereafter.
  • Must not have received an unacceptable result on a company-sponsored drug test within the last three years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Other qualifications for the position of Assistant Pharmacy Manager include:

  • Must be an immunizing pharmacist or scheduled to become one in upcoming training sessions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and solve problems effectively.
  • Numerical and financial aptitude.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising and inventory management.
