Parking and Transportation Day Shift Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Parking and Transportation Day Shift Officer. As a key member of our parking and transportation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of parking services on campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reserve parking and provide welcoming services for special guests of the University
  • Provide parking services for special events, including football games, concerts, and commencement ceremonies
  • Enforce campus parking regulations via parking citations and vehicle immobilization/towing
  • Provide on-street traffic direction for construction/maintenance projects and support requests from Emergency Management Services
  • Offer limited assistance to stranded motorists on campus, including battery jump starts and providing transportation to a safe location
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations and the ability to operate patrol vehicles safely in confined parking areas
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to welcome special guests to the campus
  • Ability to perform duties in stressful situations, including working outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Technical skills necessary to operate advanced parking software applications, such as License Plate Recognition systems
  • Traffic Control Certificate
Working Conditions:

The standard weekday schedule for normal duties is Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a 30-minute break for lunch. However, additional hours may be required during the week and on weekends to provide parking management for special events.
