Position Summary:

The Electronics Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role within a diverse team, delivering Technical Support Services for the Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center (FAALC).

This position encompasses a wide range of technical responsibilities, ensuring that electronic systems, subsystems, and components adhere to serviceability, reliability, and availability standards. Key tasks include troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, refurbishing, installing, calibrating, and testing electronic systems and components. The role may also involve designing test fixtures and prototypes, analyzing equipment performance, and collecting data.

The Electronics Maintenance Specialist is expected to execute all duties in compliance with relevant FAA and FAALC regulations, as well as organizational standards. This includes maintaining accurate records of time, leave, and training, adhering to performance management protocols, and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in all required training sessions, including safety courses, to stay updated on repair procedures.
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) on FAA and interagency systems.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of electronic and electro-mechanical systems, including fault isolation and replacement of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
  • Prepare FAA and interagency assets for transport to various locations.
  • Log time into the Data Collection and Reporting System (DCRS) daily for accurate billing.
  • Keep team leads informed about task assignments and progress.
  • Implement corrosion control and prevention measures.
  • Install electronic and mechanical systems on National Airspace System (NAS) and inter-agency systems.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to perform routine tasks, such as replacing components and wiring circuits, and taking measurements with standard instruments.
  • Diagnose, repair, and test electronic components to restore equipment to operational status.
  • Repair various electronic assemblies, cables, and circuit cards, involving disassembly, analysis, and parts replacement.
  • Assemble cables and electronic components according to technical documentation, performing testing and calibration as needed.
  • Install and adjust electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, ensuring proper functionality.
  • Work under close supervision, receiving guidance from senior technicians, with regular checks for accuracy.
  • Be prepared for travel requirements of up to 70%.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED with formal technical training or an Associate Degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
  • Ability to obtain NACI Clearance for Public Trust.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, and operational procedures is advantageous.
