Job Overview

This role collaborates with leadership, employees, and various stakeholders to enhance our safety culture and formulate policies and procedures tailored to a production center (PC) environment, safeguarding our most valuable assets: our employees, customers, communities, and brands.

Key Responsibilities

What does success entail?
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager (as a direct report) to define, establish, monitor, and continuously enhance Liberty's safety culture of "100% safe, 100% of the time".
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and stakeholder requirements specific to production, warehouse, and distribution environments.
  • Develop and implement training tools, processes, and programs for our operations team, management, and employees to elevate safety capabilities, performance, and culture.
  • Set annual safety performance objectives (LTIR, TRIR, WUR, EUR, etc.).
  • Establish management routines, audits, and inspections to significantly enhance safety performance across strategic business functions.
  • Formulate and execute systems, policies, and routines that continuously evaluate risk, set objectives, drive accountability, implement best practices, and monitor/improve safety performance.
  • Create comprehensive multi-year safety strategies for each assigned PC and/or Business Function.
  • Act as an effective safety leader/SME, role model, and employee advocate who influences PC, DC, and Business Function employees and site-specific teams.
  • Develop PC, DC, and Business Function-specific safety metrics, measurements, scorecards, and reporting to significantly enhance safety performance.
  • Utilize data, assessments, and observations to identify risks, hazards, and root causes & corrective actions to prevent incidents and injuries.
  • Conduct safety reviews of all proposed plant projects/alterations, including equipment safety reviews, modifications, plant layout changes, etc.
  • Issue stop work orders on any unsafe activities and ensure appropriate resolutions.
  • Experience in the beverage industry is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a passion for success, relentless execution, and a strong drive for results.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field (Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science, Safety Management, Risk Management, Engineering, or a related discipline).
  • Minimum of 3+ years of field safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • General Industry Trainings (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of QSE, consensus standards, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, FMCSA/DOT, CDC, DOH, etc.).
  • Solid background in auditing, including but not limited to ISO (14001, 45001, etc.) or other management systems.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing management principles, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science, Safety Management, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, ARM, or CIH.
  • 5+ years of management experience in the beverage industry.
  • Experience with the Coca-Cola system, beverage industry, or consumer products.
  • Knowledge of Health, Sustainability, and Environmental practices.
  • Strong experience in ergonomics and EHS culture is highly desired.
  • Additional Safety Certifications & Trainer Designations (First Aid/CPR/AED, Forklift/PIT, Defensive Driving, LOTO, Machine Guarding, 510 or 511 OSHA Instructor, etc.).
  • Auditing Experience (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.).
  • OSHA VPP Experience.
  • Industrial Hygiene and Manufacturing Experience.
  • Experience in Consumer Goods, Food & Beverages.
  • Food Safety Experience.
  • Lean/CI, Six-Sigma, OE.
  • Experience working in union environments.
