Program Specialist - Quantum New Mexico Institute

The University of New Mexico seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Program Specialist to support the Quantum New Mexico Institute (QNM-I). The successful candidate will provide administrative assistance to the Director and Program Manager, coordinating daily operations, events, and projects. This is a full-time position with a term end date of 06/30/2026.

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the primary liaison between QNM-I and external constituencies, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Provides administrative support, including scheduling, purchasing, and record-keeping.
  • Coordinates travel and reimbursements for students, postdocs, faculty, and other program members.
  • Assists with event planning, coordination, and implementation, including the Southwest Quantum Information and Technology (SQuInT) Annual Workshop.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to problem-solve and manage multiple projects.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new software.
  • Knowledge of university business practices, purchasing, and contract agreements.
