Grant Specialist

This is a grant funded position at Texas State University, reporting to the Student Support Services Program Director. The successful candidate will be a member of the SSS administrative team, promoting educational achievement, retention, and graduation for program participants.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide counseling and advising to students who meet program eligibility requirements.
- Determine student academic needs and develop individualized student success plans.
- Schedule monthly student meetings and document student contact/progress.
- Assist with marketing, recruitment, screening, and selection activities.
- Advise the SSS Association/Peer Pals.
- Assist with record keeping, program evaluation, and ongoing program improvement.
- Assist with trips and events for participants.
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, communications, or related field.
- Experience with academic support programs focused on student success.
- Effective writing and speaking skills.
- Experience with computer software (Microsoft suite) and database management platforms.
- Experience in planning educational and/or cultural trips.
- Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing.
