Job Summary

This is a grant funded position that requires a highly motivated and organized individual to promote educational achievement, retention, and graduation for program participants. The successful candidate will provide counseling and advising services to students, develop individualized student success plans, and assist with marketing and recruitment activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide counseling and advising services to students who meet program eligibility requirements
  • Determine student academic needs and develop individualized student success plans
  • Schedule monthly student meetings and document student contact/progress
  • Assist with marketing, recruitment, and selection activities
  • Advise the SSS Association/Peer Pals
  • Assist with record keeping, program evaluation, and ongoing program improvement
  • Assist with trips and events for participants
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, communications, or related field
  • Experience with academic support programs focused on student success
  • Experience assisting with programs, events, trips, and workshops for students
  • Effective writing and speaking skills
  • Experience with computer software (Microsoft suite) and database management platforms
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in planning educational and/or cultural trips
  • 1 year experience with academic support programs focused on student success
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing
