Collaborative Research:

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a flexible and scalable system architecture for the real-time operation of extensive distributed IoT networks, balancing safety-critical and general-purpose applications.
- Integrate distributed resources from high-performance cloud computing to edge devices, dynamically allocating resources based on Quality of Service (QoS) requirements.
- Develop applications utilizing this architecture for sectors such as industrial automation, logistics, dynamic simulations, and telepresence.
- Create programming and authoring tools to assist developers in building applications for this infrastructure.
- Address complex technical challenges at the convergence of foundational research and industrial applications, such as next-generation cloud-fog-edge architectures in Industry 4.0.
- Generate impactful research leading to publications in top-tier technical conferences and journals.
- Identify strategic research fields in emerging areas relevant to Bosch through active scouting of global research trends.
- Collaborate with Bosch unit experts to gather requirements and identify challenges from real-world applications.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Specialist-level expertise in at least two relevant areas (e.g., edge/cloud computing, distributed systems, dependable system architecture, QoS mechanisms, IoT) complemented by a strong general knowledge of the field.
- Established academic presence in relevant technical/scientific communities, evidenced by a robust record of high-impact publications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with system programming languages such as C/C++/Java/GO/Rust and Python.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences, including technical experts and management.
- Proficiency in architecting complex technical systems (e.g., Apache Spark, Kubernetes, Hadoop) and demonstrating their value through advanced prototypes.
- Experience with Linux kernel and/or network stack development.
- Familiarity with AR/VR/XR systems and/or 3D development (OpenGL, Unity, WebXR) is desirable for applications related to Digital Twins.
