The successful applicant will possess a strong desire to contribute to scientific knowledge that enhances our understanding of intelligence and technology in pursuit of sophisticated machine intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research aimed at enhancing the science and technology of intelligent systems.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and fellow researchers to formulate, develop, and execute research strategies.
  • Engage in research that facilitates the understanding of data semantics across various modalities including images, video, text, and audio.
  • Contribute to the advancement of relevant research communities through the production of high-quality scholarly publications.
  • Share research code openly and ensure research reproducibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently holds or is in the process of completing a PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline. The degree must be finalized prior to joining Meta.
  • Research experience in machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, computational statistics, applied mathematics, or similar fields.
  • A proven track record of recent and consistent publications demonstrating expertise in theoretical and/or empirical research.
  • Experience in resolving analytical challenges using quantitative and analytical methods.
  • Must secure work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization throughout employment.
  • Currently holds or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or possesses equivalent practical experience. The degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First-authored publications in peer-reviewed conferences (e.g., ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, or similar).
  • Demonstrated research and engineering experience through grants, fellowships, patents, internships, work experience, and/or coding competitions.
  • Ability to communicate research effectively to diverse audiences. Experience in cross-functional teamwork and communication.
  • Proven experience in addressing complex problems and evaluating alternative solutions, trade-offs, and diverse perspectives to determine a course of action.
