Job Overview

As a pivotal member of the executive team, the Chief Financial Strategist will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This role encompasses the stewardship of the organization's financial health, ensuring the precision and reliability of all financial assessments and operations. The individual will oversee the integrity of the financial closing processes and audits, manage the accountable entity program, and evaluate a range of strategic and operational initiatives, including revenue recognition.

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Financial Strategist will be tasked with the following:

  • Establishing robust budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring practices to identify revenue enhancement opportunities and manage medical and administrative expenses effectively.
  • Supervising all financial analysis and operational activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Leading the budgeting processes, collaborating with the Executive Leadership Team and other key stakeholders to manage administrative expenses and revenue projections.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the financial close, including all accounting and reporting activities, in alignment with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for interactions with external regulatory agencies and auditors.
  • Coordinating actuarial services to fulfill annual reporting requirements.
  • Managing all regulatory reporting obligations and audits, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Overseeing the Accountable Entity Program, focusing on Total Cost of Care development and performance analysis.
  • Ensuring proper revenue recognition by validating external revenue against internal systems.
  • Managing tax filings and ensuring compliance with IRS guidelines.
  • Overseeing financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and cash management.
  • Participating in the Enterprise Initiative Governance Committee to prioritize operational improvements and review strategic plans.
  • Upholding corporate compliance standards and ensuring adherence to ethical practices within the organization.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Extensive experience in senior financial management with a proven track record of leadership.
  • A minimum of ten years in progressively responsible financial roles within a managed care environment or a similar high-profile organization.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change and influence strategic decisions.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry's dynamics and regulatory impacts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial funding.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Strategic thinking skills to position the organization for future growth.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial principles and accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members.

Preferred:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

Compliance Oversight:
Ensures effective monitoring of all relevant entities to guarantee that services meet contractual and legal standards.
