Job Title: Nurse Educator and Infection Control Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Educator and Infection Control Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement educational programs for nursing staff on all shifts and departments.
  • Participate in staff evaluation processes, providing attendance records and performance observations.
  • Provide comprehensive facility orientation to new employees and ongoing in-service education.
  • Develop and schedule monthly and annual education programs.
  • Ensure Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)/State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNA) meet annual 12-hour in-service requirements.
  • Contribute to quality assurance initiatives and report concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Analyze infection prevention problems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop, review, and revise infection prevention policies and procedures.
  • Investigate outbreaks and initiate control measures, reporting communicable diseases to authorities as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in long-term care settings preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state.
  • CPR certification.
