Disability Access Services Specialist

Arapahoe Community College is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Disability Access Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Disability Access Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that students with disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Disability Services Professional
- Determine student eligibility for disability-related support services through an interactive process.
- Develop individualized accommodation plans that meet the unique needs of each student.
- Assessment
- Utilize assessment tools to track the effectiveness of accommodations and identify areas for improvement.
- Disability Advocacy
- Promote access to programs, facilities, and support services to ensure students with disabilities can fully participate in their education.
- Education
- Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work, Disability, Social Justice, Accessibility, or a related field.
- OR a Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work, Disability, Social Justice, Accessibility, or a related field, and two years of experience working with students with disabilities.
- Experience
- One year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental health, or other physical conditions that impact learning.
- Teaching experience or training experience with a strong understanding of Universal Design for Learning.
- Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and assess testing and diagnostic evaluations for apparent and non-apparent disabilities.
- Knowledge of disability law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
