Job Overview:
A minimum of 5 years of experience with the FAA is required.
The contractor will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring quality for projects on behalf of the FAA.
Work may encompass, but is not limited to, potential new FAA facilities, modernization, and upgrades of existing FAA facilities.
The contractor will support project planning, engineering, and construction oversight for modifications, relocations, installations, and inspections of facilities and equipment.
The contractor must provide certified and licensed engineering expertise as necessary for project implementation.Professional engineers from various disciplines may be required, including civil, construction, electrical, electronics, mechanical, and fire protection.
This role will offer design support and construction oversight for local projects within the districts.The engineering support position will collaborate closely with the District Project Coordinator, the NAS Implementation Manager (NIM), or NAS Implementation Program Manager (NPPM).
This position will assist in the coordination of local projects (e.g., facilitating site access, overseeing site surveys and implementation activities, and periodically monitoring active projects).
The contractor will provide engineering support to the districts for locally implemented projects (those executed by the Systems Service Center (SSC) without ES involvement).
This support will include creating and reviewing straightforward engineering packages, coordinating with vendors, and supervising onsite activities.Conducting site surveys.
Preparing necessary engineering documentation (including statements of work, independent government cost estimates, etc.).
Coordinating acquisitions for local procurement.
Working with vendors on required permits and certifications as mandated by regulations and site requirements.
Providing project construction surveillance and oversight for district-implemented projects.
This position will deliver engineering support for local projects, including but not limited to the following tasks:
Assisting in the design of local projects.
Creating statements of work.
Developing independent cost estimates.
Coordinating with acquisitions for local procurements.
Creating Project Risk Plans for local initiatives.
Reviewing simple design packages and submissions.
Providing construction oversight for local projects.
Coordinating site surveys.
Monitoring and overseeing active projects.
Coordinating Operational Risk Management Program (ORMP) and Joint Acceptance Inspection (JAI) requirements as needed.
Completing/validating 3900 Forms (e.g., EOSH Checklists).
Participating in Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) and JAIs as required.
Managing project execution activities.
Providing project schedule updates to the Planning and Requirements Group (PRG), Program Implementation Managers, and Schedulers.
Collaborating closely with the NIM/NPPM and District Project Coordinator.
Essential Qualifications:
Must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and advanced courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials; and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
A minimum of 5 years of FAA experience related to the construction, installation, restoration, service life extension, demolition, removal, or refurbishment of National Airspace System (NAS) facilities.
For the Mechanical Engineering roles, expertise in HVAC and Elevators is required.Flexible work-from-home options are available.
