About the Job: We are seeking a motivated Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Kenosha Human Development Services. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental health issues, helping them develop coping strategies and promoting their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. To assist members to develop their own recovery plan, help members understand their diagnosis and steps to facilitate their own plan.
  2. To organize and lead program groups and recreational activities to help members structure their time, increase social experiences and provide opportunities to practice social skills.
  3. To recruit and assist members to volunteer as a way to increase their ownership at Bridges.
  4. To assist members to plan, make, serve and clean up from lunch each day.

Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in the English language.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Must carry own auto insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 coverage.
  • Ability to maintain records and document case notes daily.
