Job Summary

The Shipping Supervisor role is responsible for overseeing the Shipping department to ensure quality, safety, and accountability of people and processes. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with plant scheduling to ensure timely shipment of orders.
  • Communicate with customer service to ensure accurate order information is provided to customers.
  • Ensure the balancing of the load schedule.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics shuttling services for movement of trailers and finished goods.
  • Manage inventory movement within warehouses and outbound.
  • Lead daily and mandatory staff meetings.
  • Ensure accountability of staff to safety, quality, and standards.
  • Address employee and leadership concerns and inquiries, and assist in developing solutions.
  • Gather and report shipping information to appropriate levels of leadership.
  • Support safety, quality, and production initiatives to achieve goals.
  • Conduct inventory audits.
  • Attend and actively participate in all assigned and mandatory meetings.
  • Recognize and reward employees.
  • Keep accurate and timely records of enterprise systems.
  • Manage labor resources according to forecasts.
  • Daily complete all work requirements listed in their Leader Standard Work.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work area.
  • Maintain effective communication with operators and plant supervision.
  • Immediately address and report safety issues or hazards.
  • Maintain an excellent safety record.
  • Maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • At least three (3) + years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • At least one (1) to 2 (2) years of warehouse, transportation, and/or logistics experience, preferred.
  • Inventory management experience.
  • Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures.
Skills

  • Ability to work in a self-directed position and a self-started.
  • Conflict resolution and management.
  • Proficient in basic computer operation and data entry; some experience with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Teams and warehouse management systems.

  • Time management.
Working Conditions
  • Must be physically able to work in a hot/cold environment.
  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Must be physically capable of performing essential job duties.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Maintain an excellent driving record and have a personal vehicle.
Education

High School Diploma or GED. Associates degree or BA/BS in business, manufacturing or related field, preferred. Leadership Development and/or certification is preferred.
