Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing special parts orders, including those for capital projects, improvement projects, and technical decision-making. The successful candidate will also serve as a backup administrator for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and provide support in the parts room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to execute and support Quality programs ensuring the production of Safe, Quality Foods
  • Backup CMMS administrator must learn all modules in the CMMS
  • Read and interpret parts drawings and blueprints
  • Communicate effectively with others in all departments and provide updates on orders as they arrive
  • Record and maintain parts purchase records to ensure an audit trail for all transactions
  • Assist with annual physical inventory of parts room
  • Provide backup support for the parts room when the Parts Room Attendant is not available
  • Request and document bids for parts, ensuring cost savings while maintaining quality standards
  • Follow company procedures to identify the appropriate vendor for sourcing parts
  • Work with finance to close purchase orders, ensuring all pricing is accurate before processing payments
  • Responsible for all parts ordering related to capital projects, improvement projects, and any orders requiring technical decision-making
  • Assist with year-end project planning, ordering, and staging in the parts room
  • Utilize root cause analysis, trend analytics, and failure data to identify opportunities for improvement and to specify new designs or parts to improve equipment performance
  • Observe and promote safe work practices and procedures
  • Use and wear safety and protective equipment, as necessary
  • Attend training to develop and improve knowledge and skills
  • Adhere to proper cleaning methods, storage, and care of equipment and supplies
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect employees, equipment, materials, and facilities
Requirements
  • Must have GED, high school diploma or higher and three to six months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prefer experience in maintenance or parts room
  • Possess computer skills including the use of plant Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and maintenance inventory control software
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Possess strong reasoning and logical thinking skills to develop effective solutions
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
