Key Responsibilities:
Summary:
This role entails managing inventory planning and selecting replenishment strategies to align with the KGP Logistics business objectives. The individual must achieve service level targets for key clients while ensuring profitable inventory levels and turnover rates.
Essential Duties:
- Optimize KGP's physical inventory assets through automated planning tools (Logility) integrated with ERP systems (Navision and/or D365). The primary challenge is to enhance inventory turnover while meeting customer service expectations.
- Analyze and update supplier lead times, collaborating with suppliers to communicate KGP's on-time delivery requirements.
- Utilize various software applications and Access databases to monitor and report key performance metrics to management and suppliers.
- Manage daily inventory reporting, providing insights into fluctuations in inventory levels.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities:
- Uphold and promote compliance with Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGP's Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual.
- Engage in job site safety and hazard assessments.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in Logistics, Marketing, or Sales is essential.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with suppliers are necessary.
- Detail-oriented with a capacity for thorough data analysis.
- Demonstrated initiative and follow-through, with an ability to identify efficiency improvements.
- Proficient decision-making, multitasking, problem-solving, and computer skills are required.
Problem Solving:
- The Planner plays a crucial role in a cross-functional team, working towards shared goals including inventory turnover, overstock management, customer service levels, profitability, and Economic Value Added (EVA).
Decision Making:
- Responsible for inventory purchases up to $500,000, adhering to KGP's fiscal policies, supplier agreements, and operational practices to support the overall business strategy.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; capable of writing basic correspondence; able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
Mathematical Skills:
- Proficient in basic arithmetic operations and able to apply these skills in practical scenarios involving financial calculations and measurements.
Reasoning Ability:
- Capable of applying common sense to follow instructions and solve practical problems in varied situations.
Physical Demands:
