The primary responsibility of the Culinary Specialist is to prepare a variety of food items, ensuring both quality and quantity standards are met to satisfy the needs of our residents. You will be responsible for handling food in compliance with health regulations and recognized culinary practices.

Work Schedule: Full Time: Tuesday-Thursday from 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, with rotating evening shifts from Friday to Monday.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food items, which includes washing, trimming, cutting, portioning, measuring, mixing, and arranging;
  • Cook meals using various methods such as baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising, boiling, and pressure cooking;
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen environment;
  • Adhere to all food preparation standards and health safety protocols;
  • Ensure proper handling, transportation, and storage of food items;
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, steamers, mixers, and more;
  • Keep food preparation and storage areas clean and safe;
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required;
  • Prepare menu items from scratch and upon request;
  • Efficiently utilize a POS system;
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Food Handler's certification is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in culinary, food service, or restaurant settings is required.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
  • Experience working with senior populations is preferred.
  • ServSafe certification is a plus.
