Position Overview

Five Paws of Delaware County is actively seeking dedicated individuals to join our team.

Our mission at Five Paws of Delaware County is to deliver exceptional pet care services. We provide our team members with numerous opportunities for professional development and growth.

Work Schedule:

  • This position is designed for part-time employment, with most staff working between 15 to 30 hours each week.
  • Operating hours range from 7 AM to 10 PM.
  • We require candidates to have consistent availability, as this is not a flexible role.
  • Available shifts include:
    • Early Daytime: 7 AM - 2 PM
    • Daytime Only: 9 AM - 3 PM
    • Evening/Weekend: 5 PM - 10 PM at least three days per week, including three weekends per month
    • Optional overnight pet sitting for additional earnings.
  • Availability on major holidays is mandatory.

Location:

We are currently expanding our team in various communities.

Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $17 to $21, based on experience and performance. Most staff members earn an average of $19 to $21 per hour, including bonuses and client gratuities.

  • Monthly earnings can range from $1,000 to $2,300.
  • 100% of client gratuities are retained by staff.
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided.
  • Overnight services are compensated at a flat rate.
  • Employee discounts and paid training are also available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a variety of services, including daily dog walks, vacation visits, overnight stays, and care for cats.
  • Exhibit empathy and patience towards all pets, regardless of size or species.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and management.
  • Demonstrate reliability and commitment, as animals depend on our services.
  • Be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Possess a modern smartphone with texting, photo, data, and GPS capabilities.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure punctuality for all scheduled visits.
  • Have a genuine passion for animal care and safety.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • We seek an honest, patient, and enthusiastic individual who can deliver high-quality care to our clients' pets.
  • Previous experience with animals, whether professional or volunteer, is preferred, but a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are equally valued.
  • The candidate should thrive in an active work environment, enjoying independent outdoor work regardless of weather conditions.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with availability during evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
