Job Title: Veterinary Assistant

At United Vision Pet Partners, we are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, medical procedures, and surgeries.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately.
  • Monitor and record vital signs of patients, administer medications and treatments under supervision, and provide post-operative care.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather information about their pets' health and behavior, educate clients on monitoring their pet, administration and side effects of medications, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and senior staff to comprehend the scientific basis for treatments and apply knowledge to explain protocols and procedures to clients effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in animal housing areas and treatment rooms, assist with inventory management and restocking of supplies, and ensure equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; formal veterinary assistant training or certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and compassion for animals and their owners.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes emotionally challenging environment, and eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and treatment methods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
