Facility Security Officer - Safety & Security Manager

In this pivotal role, you will ensure the safety and security of our facility, working closely within the Safety, Security, and Facilities department.

Position Overview:

This role serves as the primary lead for Safety, Security, and Facility operations. Your responsibilities will encompass compliance with the Department of Defense's National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) regulations, and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security: Ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program, including the protection, transmission, and classification of sensitive materials. Manage personnel security clearances, facilitate classified visits, prepare travel briefs, conduct security training, and maintain the facility's security clearance.
  • Safety: Uphold all relevant safety policies, standards, and regulations. Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) for facilities and tasks, perform internal safety audits, and represent the organization during federal audits. Analyze incidents and ensure compliance with safety equipment standards.
  • Facilities: Maintain the facility in a safe and efficient manner. Assist with inventory management and perform basic preventive maintenance tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Safety, Security, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in safety, security, law enforcement, or military security roles may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Must be a naturalized U.S. citizen eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Completion of DCSA Facility Security Officer Training and OSHA 10 Safety Training within six months of hire.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail in report writing and understanding of federal regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Facility Security Officer role or similar positions under the National Industrial Security Program.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform light maintenance tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel to the home office may be required.
