We are currently looking for a dedicated Security and Safety Manager to enhance our team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the security and safety of our operations, contributing to our Safety, Security, and Facilities department. You will report directly to the Deputy Director of Safety & Security.

Position Overview:

This role is essential as the Safety, Security, and Facility lead at our office, contributing to ThayerMahan's comprehensive Safety & Security Program. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with the Department of Defense's National Industrial Security Program (NISP), Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA) regulations, and International Standard Organization (ISO) safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Security: Ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program, which includes safeguarding classified materials, managing personnel security clearances, processing classified visits, preparing travel briefs, conducting security training, and maintaining the DCSA facility security clearance. You will also represent the company during federal audits and liaise with law enforcement agencies.

This position requires access to government security systems of records.

Safety: Ensure adherence to all relevant safety policies, standards, and regulations. Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for facilities and tasks, mitigate risks, perform internal safety audits, and represent the company during federal audits. You will also conduct root cause analyses of incidents and ensure compliance of safety equipment.

Facilities: Maintain facilities efficiently and safely, assist with inventory control, and perform basic preventive maintenance tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Safety, Security, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in safety, security, law enforcement, or military security roles may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Must be a naturalized US citizen eligible for a US DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Completion of DCSA Facility Security Officer Training within 6 months of appointment.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 Safety Training within 6 months of appointment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail in report writing and understanding of federal regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Facility Security Officer role or similar positions under the National Industrial Security Program is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform light maintenance tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be required.
