Job Title: Facility Operations Supervisor
Department: Membership

Reports to: Program Director/CEO

Status: Part-Time (Non-Exempt)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facility Operations Supervisor is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of the YMCA premises and surrounding areas during designated hours.

This role requires the ability to maintain all YMCA safety protocols and member service standards while fostering positive interactions with all members, staff, volunteers, and visitors at the YMCA facility.

The Facility Operations Supervisor acts as a representative of the YMCA and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees the general management of YMCA facilities, personnel, members, and guests in the absence of management staff.


  • Ensures that staff are present at their designated positions and reports any discrepancies to the appropriate Director. Arranges for substitutes in areas that are understaffed.
  • Takes charge in all incidents and emergencies, including disciplinary matters involving employees, members, and guests, in accordance with YMCA policies. Documents all occurrences of both medical and non-medical incidents by completing an Incident Report form.


  • Provides assistance to current and prospective members and supports member services staff with all welcome desk responsibilities as necessary.


  • Restocks supplies as needed, including paper towels, sanitizers, toilet paper, etc., and assists with minor maintenance tasks as required.
  • Conducts daily and periodic inspections of the facility and updates the Facility Operations Supervisor Checklist. Communicates safety and facility concerns to the supervisor as they arise.


  • Ensures that the building is cleared and securely locked before departure.
  • Participates in all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred age of 25 years or older.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or customer service role.
  • Ability to work independently without direct oversight.
  • Ability to effectively engage with diverse groups of individuals from various social and economic backgrounds, including both adults and children, while remaining composed in stressful situations.
  • Familiarity with Daxko operations is preferred.
  • Understanding of the YMCA's mission and its four core values.
  • Must obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certification post-hire.
  • Completion of YMCA and Redwoods required training upon hire.
