Business Development Manager

This position is accountable for driving business growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities and projects for Orion Group Holdings in a defined territory, while maintaining current client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the General Manager to develop sales strategies that align with the company's short- and long-term business objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new clients, presenting products and services that meet their needs.
- Establish and maintain ongoing client relationships to investigate new business opportunities as they arise.
- Provide regular updates to the General Manager and other key personnel on business opportunities and progress.
- Assess the feasibility of business prospects with the General Manager and discuss potential opportunities.
- Monitor and track the status of all business prospects and future opportunities.
- Participate in internal marketing and business meetings, presenting ideas and strategies to develop new business.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure personal and workplace safety, and report any incidents or concerns promptly.
- Minimum 2-4 years of business development experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- High level of business acumen and technical knowledge of the concrete construction industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Discretion and trustworthiness, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Organization skills, diligence, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility and ability to adjust to changing work priorities.
The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. They must also be able to wear and properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the work performed and location.
The individual must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel.
