Pediatric Speech Therapy Specialist

Position Overview:
Gillette Children's is in search of a dedicated full-time outpatient speech language pathologist to enhance our rehabilitation team. This role involves delivering speech therapy services to both pediatric and adult patients. The working hours are typically Monday through Friday, with potential shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. As part of our rehabilitation team, you will also participate in the inpatient weekend rotation and may be required to work on weekends occasionally.
Core Responsibilities:
As a speech language pathologist, you will:
- Conduct evaluations that prioritize family-centered care.
- Design assessments aligned with evaluation goals, patient and family input, and provider orders.
- Gather essential history and background information.
- Select appropriate evaluation methods and tools tailored to the patient's age and specific needs.
- Administer evaluations in accordance with best practices and organizational competencies.
- Interpret evaluation results for patients and families, ensuring their feedback on the evaluation's reliability.
- Make informed recommendations for treatment, referrals, and community-based activities.
- Document and bill for evaluations following established guidelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Valid Speech Language Pathology State License.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
- Proficiency in speech language pathology evaluations and treatments.
- Strong understanding of child development and rehabilitation practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- ASHA Certification.
- Experience in pediatric settings.
- Knowledge of feeding clinics and AAC devices.
