Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Substitute Paraprofessional/Classroom Assistant to join our team at Children's Kiva Montessori Charter School. As a key member of our educational support team, you will provide instructional and enrichment assistance to students, supervise students in various school settings, and perform various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support: Collaborate with teachers to provide individualized support to students, including academic and enrichment activities.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise students in classrooms, lunchrooms, playgrounds, bus lines, and during field trips, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist with clerical duties, such as taking attendance, grading papers, and maintaining student records.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, accidents, and incidents.
  • Facilities and Equipment: Ensure the safety and security of students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: High School Diploma and experience in education; Substitute Authorization through CDE (preferred); Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch; occasionally required to run short distances, lift up to 10 pounds, and lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
