Job Overview

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Management of Incoming Communications: Handle incoming calls from clients, healthcare providers, and stakeholders, providing courteous and knowledgeable assistance for inquiries and medication-related issues. Employ active listening skills to identify needs or redirect calls to the appropriate department.
  • Call Routing: Direct complex inquiries to senior technicians or pharmacists for swift resolution, ensuring a smooth transition and sharing relevant information.
  • Client Support: Provide exceptional client service, addressing complaints and educating clients about medications and their proper usage.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Uphold compliance with pharmacy regulations, policies, and safety standards.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor key performance indicators related to inbound calls, including daily totals and individual agent metrics. Other metrics include average response time, handling duration, and internal transfers.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other assigned responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a pharmacy or similar client service role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, drug classifications, and common medications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy in data entry and client interactions.
  • Knowledge of patient privacy and confidentiality standards (HIPAA).
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends or evenings, as required.
