Job Opportunity

Nichols Consulting Engineers CHTD is seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our team for a temporary project in Los Gatos, CA. As a Field Technician, you will work in a two-person team to collect data on stormwater assets, utilizing high-resolution GPS equipment. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, technical aptitude, and a commitment to safety.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, measuring, and documenting storm drain assets, including manholes, inlets, outfalls, and pipes. Data collection will be conducted using mobile devices and high-precision GPS units. The Field Technician will work safely and efficiently with a field partner, adhering to safety protocols near traffic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and document stormwater asset data using mobile devices and GPS equipment.
  • Work in a two-person team to gather data on storm drain assets.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Punctuality, attention to detail, and a safety-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility to work a mixed schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with mobile data collection applications and GPS survey equipment.
  • Basic understanding of storm drain systems.
