Job Title: Boiler Operator Maintenance Worker III

Job Summary:

The Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a skilled Boiler Operator Maintenance Worker III to join its Facilities Team. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing central plant equipment, including heating hot water boilers, steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, and associated support equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on central plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex maintenance problems, including HVAC-R, plumbing, and boiler operations.
  • Assist with plumbing, HVAC repairs, and other related duties as required or assigned.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Complete associated paperwork and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and BO-2 Journeyman Boiler Operator License.
  • 4+ years of directly-related maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Prior commercial documented experience working with HVAC-R, plumbing, boiler operations, and related equipment.
  • Demonstrated skills in general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, reaching, and lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Personal protective equipment may be required, including a respirator. The work environment may involve close proximity to research animals and hazardous materials.

Salary:

Salary is commensurate with experience.
