About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Marketing team at Thumbtack. As a key member of our growth marketing team, you'll leverage your analytical expertise to drive high-impact projects and optimize marketing channels.

Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical support for user behavior analysis, target audience identification, campaign performance measurement, and budget forecasting.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize individual campaigns and marketing channel mix.
  • Design and analyze experiments for causal inference.
  • Partner with MarTech stakeholders to scope new features and optimize performance.
  • Develop expertise in campaign measurement, A/B testing, customer segmentation, and targeting optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to build new solutions and capabilities.
  • Contribute to our team and company data culture through accessible data table design and maintenance.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of marketing data science/analytics experience.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and experience with campaign measurement and performance optimization.
  • Experience with running channel incrementality tests and building Marketing Mix Models.
  • Passion for problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analytics.
  • Sharp business judgment and ability to see past the noise.
  • Strong communication, listening, and explanation skills.
  • Expertise in SQL, proficient in Python or R, and proficient in data visualization tools like Looker, LookerStudio, or Tableau.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in relevant tech companies, e.g., consumer-facing or marketplace.
  • Experience in an analytical environment outside of analytics, e.g., management consulting.
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in statistics, math, data science, computer science, or economics.
  • Experience in building various statistical and machine learning models.

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $182,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.

For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $126,200 - $154,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
