We are seeking a qualified After-School Leader to join our team at Loudoun County Government. As a key member of our Parks, Recreation & Community Services department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional experiences for our community's youth.

Job Summary

The After-School Leader will assist in the planning and implementation of recreational activities for children, including indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, and quieter activities like snacks and homework time. A successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for working with and nurturing youth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead recreational programs for children, following curriculum plans and safety compliance standards.
  • Facilitate activities, group games, and reading time, adapting to the needs of the children.
  • Provide a welcoming and safe environment for children, assisting with daily health checks and emergency procedures.
  • Other essential job functions may be assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of program experience with children.
  • Ability to work at multiple programming sites, with options listed in the supplemental questions.
  • First Aid (Infant through Adult) and CPR certifications required within 30 days of starting.
  • Pass pre-employment, criminal, and fingerprinting background verifications with satisfactory results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-year programmatic experience, including previous supervisory experience.
  • Skilled in using iPad, phone, and laptop.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
