Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our team at Reifenstein Dialysis in Juneau, Alaska. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients undergoing dialysis treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and monitoring before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
- Prepare and maintain dialysis equipment and supplies to ensure optimal patient care.
- Transport patients safely and efficiently, and record vital signs as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxieties and ensure a smooth treatment process.
- Inspect and clean patient access sites, and ensure equipment settings conform to safety standards.
- Start patient treatment according to physician orders, and monitor for adverse reactions and equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with inventory and supply management in the dialysis clinic.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; evidence of such is necessary for employment.
- Minimum 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred.
- CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to distinguish primary colors, as demonstrated by passing the Ishihara Color Vision Test.
- Successful completion of our dialysis training program, including demonstrated competency, within 12 weeks of hire.
- Must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved national certification requirements within the CMS timeline.
- Must be flexible to work most days/times, with no set shifts.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills required, with proficiency in all clinical applications necessary within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to organize time and tasks well, and use problem-solving, analytical, and effective communication skills.
- Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work with patients, staff, and other individuals as required.
- Ability to multitask efficiently, professionally, and calmly.
- Frequent long periods of standing, bending, stooping, walking, and sitting.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
