Key Responsibilities:

  • The clinical supervisor/charge nurse ensures the delivery of safe and effective patient care during off-hours, weekends, and holidays in the absence of senior management.
  • Accountable for assessing departmental operations to ensure continuity of care and communicate relevant information to management.
  • Responsible for effectively addressing unusual occurrences or complaints and intervening as necessary.
  • Guarantees that nursing staff executes all patient care tasks in a manner that prioritizes patient safety and minimizes healthcare errors.
  • Ensures proper documentation practices, including medical necessity, are adhered to by staff in patient records; oversees the completion and updates of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
  • Assists in reviewing and analyzing risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction metrics, and outcomes to foster continuous improvement; shares findings with the nursing team.
  • Facilitates education and training for nursing staff on Quality Indicators (QIs) and ensures timely and accurate assessments are conducted.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program with current state licensure; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
  • Certification as a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a rehabilitation or acute care setting, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and direct clinical personnel activities; effective communication skills in English, with proficiency in additional languages preferred; basic computer skills are required.
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
