Key Responsibilities:
- The clinical supervisor/charge nurse guarantees the delivery of safe and effective patient care during off-hours, weekends, and holidays, or in the absence of the Chief Nursing Officer/Nurse Manager.
- Responsibilities encompass assessing all departments to ensure continuity of care and communicating relevant information to management.
- The clinical supervisor/charge nurse is tasked with effectively reporting unusual incidents or complaints for follow-up and intervening as necessary.
- Ensures that nursing staff executes all patient care duties in a manner that prioritizes patient safety and minimizes the risk of medical errors.
- Oversees the accuracy of documentation, including medical necessity, by staff in medical records; monitors the completion and updates of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
- Assists in reviewing and evaluating risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction metrics, and outcomes to enhance performance and results; shares this information with the nursing department.
- Ensures that nursing staff receives education and training on Quality Indicators (QIs) and that timely and accurate QI assessments and scoring are conducted.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program with current licensure in the state; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
- Certification as a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a rehabilitative or acute care setting, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and direct clinical personnel activities; effective communication skills in English, with proficiency in additional languages preferred; basic computer skills are required.
- Exhibits strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
