Job Title: Medical Director for Palliative Care

Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to lead our established Palliative Care team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care, leading a collaborative team, and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in providing palliative care services to patients and families.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, quality of care, and team performance.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership, clinicians, and other stakeholders to advance palliative care initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects, data analysis, and performance metrics to drive excellence in care delivery.
Requirements:
  • Current, unrestricted MD/DO Oregon medical license.
  • Graduated from an approved school of medicine.
  • ABMS/AOA Board Certification in a medical or surgical specialty, and American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (ABHPM) certification or completion of a Palliative Medicine Fellowship.
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of hospital experience in Palliative Care, with leadership experience preferred.
