Job Summary

As a key member of our Bassoon Finishing Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards are met in the manufacturing of our double reed instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instrument Assessment: Play test and evaluate Fox Products bassoons to ensure they meet current standards.
  • Precision Adjustments: Adjust padded bassoons to precise specifications, ensuring proper seal and fit.
  • Quality Control: Verify connections, key fits, and spring tensions meet current specifications.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in cross-functional teams to define best practices and improve processes.
  • Customer Representation: Represent Fox Products positively to the music community, communicating effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Clearly understand and communicate outside feedback to the department supervisor, driving continuous improvement.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess strong mechanical knowledge, with experience working with light machinery, drill motors, reamers, sanders, and buffers.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate high-level attention to detail and quality, with ability to solder small metal parts and perform focused work on small parts.
  • Leadership: Exhibit leadership skills, assisting the department supervisor in driving positive change and moving the business forward.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Music or higher, with Bassoon Performance preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge, ability to play the bassoon at a high level, and proficiency in using measuring tools, calipers, and scales.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, disciplined, detail-oriented, punctual, and quality-minded, with a positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
