About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team at WOW Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our advanced commercial refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Upgrade: Lead the installation of new refrigeration units, ensuring they meet the highest standards for performance and reliability.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance/cleaning tasks on existing condensing units, rack systems, and evaporators (EVAPS), ensuring long-term functionality and efficiency.
  • Monitoring and Response: Keep a vigilant eye on refrigeration system alarms, responding promptly to any issues to prevent disruptions.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair complex system problems, utilizing your technical expertise to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  • Service Advanced Systems: Maintain and repair electronic control systems, variable frequency drives, fractional horsepower units, and refrigeration package units, ensuring all components work harmoniously.
  • Maintenance Records: Accurately document all service activities, ensuring complete and reliable maintenance records.
  • Inventory Management: Keep an organized inventory of refrigeration repair materials, ensuring that essential parts are always on hand.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to after-hours emergency situations, resolving safety and product concerns with urgency and precision.
  • New Facility Support: Assist in scoping and reviewing proposed refrigeration systems for new facilities, providing your expertise to ensure successful installations.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Technical training in refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning & research (HVAC&R) controls, test equipment, materials, tools, maintenance, and energy.
  • Commercial Experience: 5 Years Commercial Refrigeration Experience preferred.
  • DOT Physical: A valid DOT physical is required for this position. Candidates must pass the DOT physical examination as part of the employment process and maintain current certification to ensure compliance with federal transportation safety standards.
  • EPA Certification: EPA Universal Certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Additional Skills: Controls background/programming a plus. Ability to safely replace mechanical and electrical components, read gauges and instruments, and adjust mechanisms to control fluid pressure and distribution in systems. Experienced in operating scissor/boom lifts.
