Transforming Healthcare with Diagnostic Radiography Expertise
At Hackensack Meridian Health, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of diagnostic radiography. As a Radiologic Technologist, you'll play a vital role in obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations that help our patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.
- As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, shielding, and selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs.
- You'll use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
- We adhere to ALARA principles, which restricts radiation beam through proper and safe collimation, ensuring safe care for all patients.
- You'll perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
- Following operational procedures, you'll safely identify patient images with name and MRN#, correctly marking the image as to the side of the patient taken.
- You'll process and reconstruct all images using available methods.
- Our radiology team maintains a clean and organized x-ray room, ordering and maintaining proper supplies as directed by the head of the department.
- You'll prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist providers when necessary in administering radiopaque mixtures to patients.
- Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, patient instruction, maintenance of records, reception of patients, and other duties as required.
- You'll render services and/or assistance to all patients depending on individual needs and abilities in moving, turning, getting on and off the x-ray tables, etc.
- Responsibilities also include scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, overtime as needed, and on-call assignments as per Department of Radiology policy.
- Standards of behavior, attendance, and punctuality are adhered to.
- You'll greet all patients upon arrival for their exam utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards.
- Daily clerical duties include the use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospital.
- Identifying patient needs and modifying care accordingly, including communicating with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at their level.
- Adhering to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- HM Organizational competencies and standards of behavior are adhered to.
Requirements:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
- Diagnostic Radiography License.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Working Conditions:
Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs, pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs, and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
