Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations and providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Position patients, provide immobilization devices, and shield as needed to ensure accurate and safe imaging.
- Use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
- Restrict radiation beam through proper and safe collimation to provide safe care to all patients.
- Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
- Follow operational procedures to safely identify patient images with name and MRN, correctly mark the image as to the side of the patient taken.
- Process and reconstruct all images using available methods.
- Maintain an orderly x-ray room, including ordering and maintaining proper and adequate supplies as directed by the head of the department.
- Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist providers as needed in administering radiopaque mixtures to patients.
- Perform administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instruction, maintenance of records, reception of patients, and other administrative duties as required.
- Rend services and/or assistance to all patients depending on individual patient needs and abilities in moving, turning, getting on and off the x-ray tables, etc.
- Responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care.
- On-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy.
- Adhere to policies of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
- Greet all patients when they arrive for their exam utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards.
- Perform daily clerical duties, including the use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, computer system, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospital.
- Identify the needs of the patient population served and modify and deliver care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.).
- Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
