Part-time: 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday)
Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This role involves providing patient care and performing all essential job functions as outlined below.
Essential Job Functions:
- Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by properly positioning patients and using immobilization devices as necessary.
- Select and operate equipment for specific procedures, ensuring appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs.
- Restrict radiation exposure by using cone and collimating devices to avoid affecting non-targeted areas.
- Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and the emergency room.
- Accurately label films with patient information, ensuring proper identification of the side of the body imaged.
- Develop exposed x-ray film using available processing methods.
- Complete patient requisitions with the necessary details, including initials, date, and film information.
- Maintain the x-ray room in an organized manner as directed by the department head.
- Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist the physician with administration as needed.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, instructing patients, and maintaining records.
- Assist patients with mobility as needed, including helping them on and off x-ray tables.
Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day.
Identify and address the needs of the patient population served, adjusting care to meet individual needs (e.g., age, culture, impairments).
Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers based on their developmental and educational levels.Adhere to organizational competencies and standards.
Education and Certification Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
Must meet the clinical and certification requirements of the A.R.R.T.
Possession of a New Jersey State License.
One year of orthopedic practice experience is required.
