Product Development Manager

At Dover Corporation, we're seeking a skilled Product Development Manager to join our team. As a Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and product knowledge to customers, sales teams, and engineering teams. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing product growth and profitability strategies for our Inpro/Seal product portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify enhancements and new offerings, build and maintain product knowledge repositories, and engage in regular collaboration with sales, technical, and operations teams to facilitate the execution of product line strategies globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acts as technical expert and works with technical leaders in key customer organizations to identify enhancements and new offerings
  • Build and maintain repository of existing product knowledge for use by the Sales and Engineering teams
  • Develop and execute on the product growth and profitability strategies for the Inpro/Seal product portfolio.
  • Engages in regular collaboration with sales, technical and operations teams to facility the execution of the product line strategy, globally.
  • Acts as independent technical expert and is responsible for the technical baseline of products, providing assessments of requirements, design, risks, budget and schedule
  • Identifies gaps between requirements, design, manufacturing, operations and facility solutions and works cross functionally on practical solutions to reduce operational cost, improve reliability and quality of bearings products.
  • Effectively communicates feedback related to the feasibility of customer or manufacturing recommended modifications or adaptations
  • Participates and supports target analysis for related Merger and Acquisition strategy
  • Manage the product portfolio including portfolio analysis, rationalization, margin & sales analysis and new product development
  • Develop techniques for obtaining the voice of the customer (VOC), drive VOC market research, correlate output, and define product specifications and relevant market data
  • Ensure completion of projects, staying within project budget by managing resources and expenses
  • Attends and participates in industry and/or customer events
  • Perform business development activities in support of present and future customers and underserved markets, including evaluating and prioritizing customization request.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 8+ years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple requests for product enhancements, and challenging assumptions to maintain a focus on products that have scalability. Must have a strong industrial and technical background, understanding bearing protection and sealing standards.
  • Proven problem-solving, operational and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer's problems and to develop solutions which meet or exceed the customer's expectations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - Ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels within the organization both internally and externally.
