Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team at Methodist Hospital. As a key member of our Laboratory Department, you will be responsible for performing complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specimen processing and testing independently to include moderate and high complexity testing.
- Analyze test results and assume accountability for accuracy.
- Understand, perform, and practice preventive maintenance on equipment; troubleshoot and take corrective action.
- Demonstrate pro-active problem-solving skills to include identifying a problem and taking appropriate action.
- Communicate any relevant QC information to Supervisor or Manager.
- Anticipate and evaluate need for new methods, instrumentation, and technology in terms of customer need, cost benefit and revenue generation.
- Assure compliance with accrediting agencies.
- Act as a resource to customers both within the department and outside the department.
- Manage assigned projects to include developing a plan, coordinating necessary resources, setting project timelines, keeping Manager informed of progress, and completing project within established time limits.
- High school diploma (or equivalent), with 15 years of clinical lab experience OR
- Associates Degree with minimum 2 years' experience in Clinical Lab setting. -OR
- Bachelor's Degree required with clinical lab experience preferred.
- One of the following certifications is required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT) Certification is waived for those with 5 years of lab experience
